Another SOWITEC Brazil reference wind power project entering into operation.

The project DELFINA located in Northern Bahia nearby the lake of Sobradinho which development has been initiated by SOWITEC in 2007 has entered into operation on August 30, 2017 with 180MW capacity.

The project, on a hill at nearly 1´000m altitude nicely horseshoe shaped towards wind, has demonstrated the extraordinary wind resource of the interior of Bahia. In the meantime the whole region has turned into a wind power Eldorado of several GWs potential.

The park is equipped with Vestas V110 – 2MW wind turbines showing an outstanding capacity factor of up to 70%. It will be extended the coming years by some 400MW.

DELFINA is the 6th  wind park in Brazil developed by SOWITEC and operated by ENEL. SOWITEC Brazil is now getting close to the 1GW milestone of wind projects in operation or under construction.

A total of 2 GW of new wind and solar projects have just been registered to December auction.
