Pastorale

Uruguay

Pastorale marks a major milestone in the history of SOWITEC. Not only did SOWITEC develop this project, but for the first time outside of Europe we continue to keep a participation on a wind park in operation. Here, 130 km northwest of Uruguay’s capital Montevideo, the country’s tallest wind turbines can be found. With a capacity factor of over 40 % the wind park makes a significant contribution to the nation’s production of clean energy. The project was developed in close communication with local stakeholders who welcomed the initiative to the point that wind turbines are displayed in the new official emblem of the municipality of Ismael Cortinas, where Pastorale wind park is located, demonstrating the important role that renewable energy has for the region and its population.
