Palo Alto

Mexico

At an altitude of over 2000 m a.s.l. the wind park of Palo Alto is producing clean energy for Jalisco and neighboring states. To connect the project to the national grid, SOWITEC planned a 47 km long transmission line, signed the necessary land lease agreements and undertook various studies. A special challenge was the nearby habitat of Golden Eagles. Making sure the project would not harm the eagles SOWITEC monitored their movement though a telemetry study. The results proved that the project complied with all environmental regulations and the eagle population was well protected.

Amistad

Mexico
Project is under construction.

The Amistad wind park is located in Coahuila State just 10 km south of the border to the USA. During the project‘s development SOWITEC conducted extensive studies to ensure minimal impact on the environment and monitored the migration of the endangered monarch butterfly and the local birds and bats populations.
Due to the remote location of the wind farm SOWITEC had to plan and design 92 km of transmission line, as well as 80 km of access road
