Brazil
Team
The Brazilian Team won a new colaborator; Gerson Cardoso, 24 years, born in Salvador - BA. Graduated in Law from the Faculty Ruy Barbosa, his mains activities in the company include legal support for the land lease agreements , legalization of the properties, formalization of contracts, among other tasks.
 
Wind Measurements
Three additional 80m wind measurements have been installed in March and April on the projects “Engenho”, “Ventania" in Ceara, “Ventos do Campo Vasto”, in Alagoas.

The SODAR equipment, last technology for measuring wind, already arrived in Salvador – BA. It’ll begin to operate in Brazilian Projects in May 2009.
Argentina
Maria Veronica Iuorno works with the Argentinean team since the beginning of march. She supports the team as a trainee in any scopes of project development.  

Peru
Team
New team member Rodil Roberto Urriola Panta, based in Piura, will support the Peruvian team in project development of the coastal zones in the north of Peru. He has graduated in 2007 at University of Piura’s mechanical-electrical engineering faculty.

Wind Measurements
The first SoWiTec met mast has been set up in Ancash.

Mexico
The first measuring mast hast been installed in the state of San Luis Potosi.

Chile ENEL Green Power has signed an agreement to develop several wind energy projects
The Italian firm ENEL G.P., through its Chilean subsidiary ENEL Latin America Limited, signed an agreement with the Chilean subsidiary SoWiTec Renewable Energy to construct several wind farms for a total capacity of 850 MW.
This agreement enables ENEL to have exclusive access to projects that SoWiTec is currently developing, while allowing the Italian firm to acquire them, once they obtain the permits from the Chilean authorities.

Brazil

SoWiTec do Brasil has started the process of pre-environmental-licensing (Licença Prévia Ambiental) for the following projects in the state of Bahia: Curva dos Ventos, Cristal, Ouroventos, Magnesita and Sobradinho.
Chile
Environmental Engineer RENE SALIDAS GONZALEZ is our new project manager in Chile. He will support the team in wind park development and contribute his experience in work security. 

Germany
Our team in Germany has grown again: five trainees/ graduands joined SoWiTec in February and beginning of March: ELENA SCHULTES will support Konstantin and Frank in any tasks concerning international project development. ARNDT FEUERBACHER has joined the CDM-team and assists Gerd and Michel while SEBASTIAN TRAUB (photo will be published on website soon) is the new guy in the development department, he works with WindPro and ArcGIS.
The technical management department also got two new team members: graduand DANIEL KÖCK is responsible for the optimization of the inspection of wind turbines and MAX PETERS as a trainee is mainly working on daily tasks.

Mexico
Please welcome our new team member in Mexico: Alberto Lael Ramírez who is a graduated mechanical and electrical engineer, joined the team and will support SoWiTec de Mexico in the development of projects.


November 2008

Brazil
The successful partnership between ENEL and SoWiTec do Brasil has been concluded in early November: Eight SPE's - Societies of Specific Purposes - were created as projec operating companies.
The eight projects are already under development and planned to start operating in early 2013.
Chile
Environmental Engineer RENE SALIDAS GONZALEZ is our new project manager in Chile. He will support the team in wind park development and contribute his experience in work security. 

Germany
MATT SIMMONS is SoWiTec’s grid specialist supporting Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Peru and Uruguay in any technical matters concerning power supply lines, cables etc.
BJÖRN LANG is a trainee working with the development team on Micrositing and ArcGIS. 

Mexico
ARTURO BETETA DEL RIO and GUILLERO GONZÁLES OROZCO will support the SoWiTec de Mexico team as project managers while JORGE LANZ DE OBESCO started working as a trainee. See Arturo on the following picture and check the website to “meet” Guillero and Jorge soon.

Peru
The Peruvian team moved into a new office, that is located in Av. Aramburú 856, Oficina 402 - Surquillo – Lima.
 EDITH MAGALY MAQUERA COLQUE is our new Project Manager in Perú. She will be working with Jeaneth performing activities for SoWiTec Peru in the south. 
Argentina
Two new members joined the Argentinean team in October and will support project development activities in Buenos Aires region.
Electrical engineer Gustavo Javier Garcia has experience in Technical Support and Software Administration while EUGENIO LUCIO GUREA will contribute his work experience as industrial engineer.
Germany
Christian Ziegler started to work on his diploma thesis dealing with (gist translation): “Implementation and optimization of a wind turbine components management”.

As per 01.08., we have new colleague with SoWiTec do Brasil Tiago Messias. He will start with project development in Bahia. Denise Matos started on 01.08 with SoWiTec do Brasil as our new Administration and Finance officer. Luiza Fonte will support the team in the role of the administrative assistant.

Mexico

Victor Manuel Nava Méndez supports Alex in Mexico as project manager.
 

Peru
  • SoWiTec has received the grant from the Ministry of Energy and Mines to evaluate the possibility of increasing electricity generation in the districts of Piura and Moquegua. Such permission will last a period of 24 months.
  • Carlos German Zarate and Gustavo Mory Huarcaya started as project managers with the SoWiTec Peru team in Lima.
Chile

Claudio Arias and Marisol Macaya are our new team members in Chile.

Germany

DANIEL VOTTELER and MICHEL KÖHLER started to work in Sonnenbühl. Both are working on their diploma thesis while Daniel is responsible for process analysis and Michel is dealing with SoWiTec’s entrance into the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) market.
       
Uruguay
  •  All 5 generation permits for Castillos Norte, Minas I, Sierra Aguirre, Arbolito and Cuchilla Negra have been granted.
  • The SoWiTec Uruguay team has moved to a new office in Montevidea (Yaguarón 1407, Of. 805), the old office will persist until end of 2008.

  • SoWiTec Uruguay SA participated in Americas INNOVATION Forum (March 30 -  April 1 2008 in Punta del Este, Uruguay) the follow up event of the Americas Competitiveness Forum 2007. Exchange of knowledge and promotion of development through innovation have been discussed during the forum.

  • New team member: Environmental Managing Engineer SUSANA GIADROSIC will support Karina and Konstantin in the SoWiTec de Chile team as Project Manager. She will deal with environmental authorities, prepare documents and necessary information (maps, photographs) for the projects, interview clients and potential clients and take over administrative tasks.
